Scott Police bust meth lab near headquarters – Daily Advertiser

Scott Police arrested two Thursday after they found a clandestine meth lab at their home down the road from Scott City Hall, which houses the police and fire departments.
Jason Bedsole, 37, and Sarah Fournet, 30, of DeRidder, were arrested after Scott police executed a search warrant Thursday on a home at 1223 St. Mary St. While searching the home, police found methamphetamine, prescription medication, marijuana and a “large amount” of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from Scott Fire Chief Chad Sonnier.

Officers also found what appeared to be a clandestine lab utilized to manufacture methamphetamine, Sonnier said, as well as a gym bag containing several chemicals and other items used to make methamphetamine. Police called in the Lafayette Fire Department’s Haz-Mat Response Team to assist.
Additionally, police found flammable liquids and other chemicals and arrested Bedsole and Fournet after firefighters deemed the home safe.

Bedsole and Fournet were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II narcotics, possession of schedule I narcotics, possession of schedule III narcotics, possession of schedule IV narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, operation of a clandestine lab, and possession of a legend drug.
Bedsole was also charged with an unrelated open warrant.
